Dr Azad Moopen is the Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, a leading private healthcare provider network in Middle East and India.

From a single doctor practice to the largest network of healthcare facilities with over 290 establishments in the Middle East and India, Aster DM Healthcare covers a wide spectrum of healthcare services including Hospitals, Clinics, Pharmacies, Medical City, Medical & research activities and Healthcare Consultancy.

In addition, Dr Moopen founded Dr. Moopen’s Foundation which focuses on healthcare, education and social philanthropies through a variety of “Healing Touch” activities. He recently earmarked 20% of his personal wealth (approximately Rs.1 Billion) to initiatives in Gulf countries, India, Africa, Afghanistan and Philippines, both directly and through supporting a variety of NGOs.

Dr Moopen has received numerous awards and accolades for his social work across the globe. In 2011, he won a ‘Padma Shri’, the 4th highest civilian award by the Government of India and was also listed in Forbes Magazine among Top 10 Indian Leaders from the Arab World and 100 Richest Indians in the World in 2013 and 2014.

A Venu Rajamony holds a degree in Law from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, and a Masters degree in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

After a two year stint as staff correspondent of the Indian Express, Venu Rajamony joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1986 as the topper of his batch. He has since served in Indian missions in Hong Kong, Beijing, Geneva and Washington, D.C., as well as in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. He was Asia Foundation Fellow at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in DC during 2001–2002. A fluent speaker of Chinese, Rajamony has authored a much acclaimed monograph titled The India-China-US Triangle: A Soft Balance of Power in the Making.

Shahnaz Pakravan is a well-known figure in Middle Eastern and British media through her television work with the BBC and ITN, including Arab World Direct and Tomorrow's World. She also produced and presented her own weekly women’s show Everywoman for Al Jazeera when the English Channel first launched.

Shahnaz is a former newsreader on BBC World and presented Channel Four's daily breakfast news programme Channel Four Daily. She also co-presented the evening prime-time Channel Four News with Jon Snow. She contributed to the critically acclaimed Channel Four Health programme Health Alert and produced and presented the monthly current affairs magazine prgramme Arab World Direct for BBC World.

She founded her own media and events management company SP Productions in Dubai’s Media City over a decade ago. She has produced countless live events, films and content for both the private and government sectors including the Zayed Foundation; the Abraaj Group; and Mohebi Logistics.

Rajrishi Singhal is Senior Geoeconomics Fellow, Gateway House. He has been a senior business journalist, and Executive Editor, The Economic Times, and served as Head, Policy and Research, at a private sector bank, before shifting to consultancy and policy analysis. In his extensive journalistic career, he has covered areas such as, steel, coal, shipping, ports, petroleum, petrochemicals, textiles and corporate performance. He was the Gurukul Chevening Fellow at the London School of Economics (1997-1998), and the C. V. Starr Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study of India, University of Pennsylvania (2002). He has written at length on the Indian economy, banking and finance industry, and on numerous public policy issues. He also served on two government committees appointed to re-examine policy options in areas of financial services, such as pension sector reforms. At present, he is a member of the Core Advisory Committee of National Insurance Academy and the Advisory Board of India Knowledge@Wharton, and a regular Op Ed contributor to various publications. He has a Master’s degree in Economics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

Rahul Sharma is President, Rediffusion Communications, and brings nearly 30 years of experience in media and public affairs to the table.

A former newspaper editor, Rahul has lived and worked in various countries. Starting his journalism career in India, he joined Reuters in early 1990s where he covered some of the biggest political and economic stories in the region before returning home as Editor, Delhi, Hindustan Times. In his last journalistic role Rahul was Editor of the Dubai-based Khaleej Times, the oldest English-language daily in the Gulf region.

Prior to joining Rediffusion, Rahul was President, Public Affairs, South Asia, at Genesis Burson-Marsteller where he led policy and political campaigns. As a public affairs expert, he has worked with clients across sectors, advising them on policy and crisis issues.

Rahul has written extensively on global and regional financial markets and economic issues. His subject interests include China, foreign policy and international relations, and he has contributed to various Indian and foreign publications.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Rahul has a Masters in International Relations and Security from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at the Tufts University and a Masters in International Trade and Economy from Flinders University, Adelaide.
